MARTIAL FUSION

Martial Fusion is a Cross Training System developed by Guillermo Gomezfusing the disciplines of aikido, kickboxing, yoga, qigong, and meditation through the philosophy of the warrior meditator or “ZENBU,” the seamless integration of internal healing arts (ZEN) and external martial discipline (BU) that appear contradictory but are, in truth, inseparable and one.

Martial Fusion is based on the practice of 8 principles; breath, alignment, centering, coordination, fluidity, adaptability, balance, and awareness to cleanse and unclog the body and mind to tap into a continuous energy flow, igniting the human condition through the cultivation and magnification of higher energy levels unlocking our highest potential.

HEALING ARTS

THE INTERNAL (ZEN)

In Japanese, Zen is translated as emptiness or meditation. In Martial Fusion, Zen is represented by a downward triangle inside of a circle. This emptiness can also be described as formlessness and the source of all manifestation, the silent witness that watches the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that arise and dissolve without being identified by any of them.

MARTIAL ARTS

THE EXTERNAL (BU)

In Martial Fusion, BU is represented by an upward triangle inside of a circle. In Japanese, BU is translated as martial or war, BU is the disciplined body, the decisive mind, the unbreakable commitment to act when others freeze.

PRINCIPLE #1: BREATH

THE FOUNDATION OF ENERGY ACCESS

Breath is the mechanism that gives you immediate access and command over your energy, your mind and body, and therefore, your outcomes. Your ability to strategize, negotiate, or take effective action depends on the quality of the energy running through your system.

PRINCIPLE #2: ALIGNMENT

REFINING YOUR GEOMETRY

Seeking self-alignment with our body is the practice of self-geometry. The way we function and perform depends upon the perfection of this geometry. Becoming aware of our present structure and refining it by consistent training, will allow the machine to function without any friction within itself.

PRINCIPLE #3: CENTERING

GROUNDING WILL REVEAL THE DIRECTION TO FOLLOW

Became aware of your center in order to move effectively in the world. The practice of deep breathing and self alignment makes us relax and drop all tension, anxiety, and anything that is not real, revealing our center.

PRINCIPLE #4: COORDINATION

OPERATE YOUR MACHINE AS ONE UNIT

In order to maximize your power, you have to understand how and when to move all of your body parts simultaneously and in perfect synchronicity. This will allow you to  operate your machine as one unit, achieving maximum results with the minimum amount of effort.

PRINCIPLE #5: FLUIDITY

DO NOT PUSH THE RIVER - IT FLOWS BY ITSELF

Once we experience energy flowing without attachments or interruptions, in time and naturally, this state of being can be transferred to everything else we do, and then everything in life becomes a meditation.

PRINCIPLE #6: ADAPTABILITY

THE ONLY CONSTANT IN LIFE IS CHANGE

Adaptability is the capacity to change and learn something new, think on our feet, and move through different structures. Adaptability is freedom. The ability to adapt is not only the key for survival but for evolution and self-development as well.

PRINCIPLE #7: BALANCE

BALANCE IS A MOVING TARGET

Balance is not static thing. Balance is the capability to be connected with the here and now by making the necessary adjustments on the spot, and to keep rearranging yourself with all obstacles and challenges coming your way.

PRINCIPLE #8: AWARENESS

GROWTH IS BEYOND YOUR COMFORT ZONE

In the dojo of life, true mastery emerges not from endless repetition of the known and familiar, but from the courage to step into the strange and unknown.

Growth is beyond your comfort zone.
