Martial Fusion® is a high-energy cross training system developed by Sensei Gomez by blending Aikido, Kickboxing, and Zen meditation into a unique self-defense discipline combined with flexibility, strength, endurance, and breathing exercises based on universal principles for martial arts physical conditioning and inner-development.
Aikido (AI= Harmony KI= Energy DO= The Way) The essence of Aikido techniques is spherical motion around a stable energized center, where practitioners learn how to blend with the motion of attacks from one or multiple opponents, redirecting the attacker's energy into a point of non-resistance, and controlling aggression without inflicting injury.
The energetic and flowing spiral movements of aikido techniques provoke states of meditation in motion that removes obstacles, impurities, and toxins in the system, allowing the practitioner to awaken and evolve as a conscious human being – this is the meaning of spiritual development.
Kickboxing is a highly effective full body and mind conditioning training, derived from different kicking styles of martial arts and boxing. Kickboxing is based on punches, kicks, elbow and knee strikes, developing your cardio, strength, flexibility, focus, balance, coordination, agility and muscle tone simultaneously. The overall physical conditioning of kickboxing is one of the most complete and practical training methods for any individual looking to get in top fighting shape while burning major calories.
Zen meditation was originated in China during the 6th century as a form of Buddhism known as "Chan." From China, spread south to Vietnam, to Korea and east to Japan. The word Zen in Japanese means "empty" or "meditative state." In ancient Japan, Zen had a major impact on samurai warriors, and it was widely adopted as their official spiritual practice.
Zen emphasizes the personal expression of experiential wisdom in the attainment of Satori commonly translated as “enlightenment” through the practice of Zazen "seated meditation," contemplation of koans (stories, dialogues, questions, or statements used to provoke the "great doubt") and interaction with an accomplished teacher.
Zen expressions refer to enlightenment as "seeing your self-nature." But even this is not enough. After seeing your self-nature, you need to deepen your experience even further and bring it into maturation. You should have enlightenment experiences again and again and support them with continuous practice.
"THE PURPOSE OF MARTIAL ARTS PHYSICAL
TRAINING IS INTERNAL DEVELOPMENT."
Martial Fusion enhances our ability to perceive, cultivate, and restore (KI) the vital energy that is all around us, making it available while expelling toxins from the system. This increased energy level promotes health, vitality, emotional balance, mental clarity, intuition, creativity, tranquility, and spiritual awareness.
Through deep breathing and repetition of fluid movements, we can develop an awareness of our center of gravity known in Japanese as "Hara", the body's powerhouse, allowing access to higher realms of awareness ignited by the circulation of energy through the meridian lines and energy centers within the body also known as Chakras. When this life force flows freely, the body becomes full of vitality and free from illness.
Since ancient times, purification rituals have been used and developed by humans to attain higher levels of understanding and awakening, as well as mind-body-spirit renewal through what the Japanese Shinto call Misogi (water purification) by washing away impurities or obscure energies in a river, waterfall, or sea, and Misogi-no-kokyu-ho (purification through breathing), a cleansing of the internal organs through deep conscious breathing practice.
This conscious breathing is essential for the purification process. Breath is the bridge between body and mind, synchronizing physical and emotional states, creating harmony within, with others, and the world.
Misogi is a profound spiritual practice meant to bring human beings into direct communion with nature and a state of harmonization and awakening, by transcending ego and experiencing the true nature of things, including our own.
MARTIAL FUSION BELT SYSTEM
Our Belt System consists of seven progressive belts or levels after the white belt:
RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE, and BLACK, providing a clear and organized curriculum for learning and development of martial arts skills.
MARTIAL FUSION SYMBOL
The inverted triangle inscribed in the circle represents the "Third Eye", located at the center of the forehead just above the eyebrows with the pituitary gland as its physical home. When this energy center is fully activated, we gain access to higher levels of perception and operation igniting our internal development and evolution - this is the ultimate purpose of our practice.
TRAINING IS PREPARATION FOR THE BEYOND.
